If you are seeking a relaxing b&b in a peaceful historic village in the Orobie Alps, we believe that our B&B could be your perfect choice.
The B&B takes his name from one of the hills, located at a walking distance, “Castello Regina”, meaning the “Queen’s Castle”. The name comes from an ancient story of the medieval Queen “Teodolinda” of the Longobardi, who owned a castle on top of this mountain (1343 m), just above the small village of Cavaglia.
The legend of his life survived until present and, during your stay, you will have the chance to know more about the courage of this lady that, in order to escape from the enemies, decided to kill herself, but before doing it, secured a tresuty made of gold and jewellry down in the mountain. The treasury has not been found yet… you may be the lucky one who finds it!
The place is run by the Locatelli’s family, originally from the village of Cavaglia. The members of the family, speaking both English and French, will be pleased to host you and make sure that your stay will be perfect.
All the rooms of the B&B have a nice window and / or a balcony with a view on the surrounding hills or the village, besides the double room, also three beds and four bedrooms are available, all characterized by a traditional furniture.
The breakfast, made with organic ingredients soured from the local farms, includes homemade marmalade and honey, fresh fruits coming from the local orchard, fresh milk and diaries and it is served in a kitchen at guests’ disposal and equipped with all the necessary cooking accessories and tea/coffee making facilities.
In case you wish to enjoy a dinner out, there are several opportunities of local restaurants and pubs at a few minutes drive from the B&B.
The Locatelli’s family is also available to help advise guests on places to eat nearby.
During every season we find that people come to us for different reasons – some want to walk, others to do rock climbing or just to relax and make a tour of the village and surrounding countryside.
We have many maps and books on the area and are always happy to offer advice when needed.
During the winter season the most common activities are: skying and ice climbing in the resort of the BrembanaValley (at less than one drive from the B&B), and rock climbing in the close cliffs of the “Monte Corno”. Find out more in the section “Activities”.
